Great article! For the non-finance types this can be a difficult concept. However even the non-finance types need to understand that 2 weeks of backwardation in a commodity like silver is crazy! Perhaps physical scarcity is finally catching up with the paper manipulators.

I listened to the congressional testimony yesterday from one of the Madoff whistleblowers that has been tipping off the SEC for the past 9 years without any response from the regulators. It will be interesting to see Bill Murphy or Ted Butler in front of Congress in a year or so telling the same story about the CFTC. It sure would be nice if Obama and Gensler would use the administration change as an opportunity to come clean on this. Unfortunately, I do not have a lot of faith in that. However, if silver stays in backwardation and gold continues to decouple from the dollar, it probably doesn't make much difference. You can't defy economic law forever.
