I dissagree that people are still going on living and working as if currency and government have no effect on real life. Did you mean the currency collapsed? For all the talk about Iceland's troubles, I would not say that the country has collapsed. I'm sure that people are still living there and going to work and doing business, even through all this. Perhaps you mean that the government collapsed? The old government is gone, but not much has changed- they have a new government now ready to make the same mistakes as the last government.
